Basement Waterproofing Cost Calculator

Estimate interior perimeter drainage or exterior footing drainage by linear feet, with sump-pump and battery-backup add-ons shown separately.

BASEMENT WATERPROOFING CALCULATOR

Price the drainage system, not a vague “waterproofing package.”

Start with where the water appears, then choose the drainage method and length. We use published per-foot ranges and separately show sump-system add-ons.

1

What are you seeing?

This only preselects a comparison system; it is not a diagnosis of where the water originates.

2

Drainage scope

Use the approximate wall or perimeter length involved in the proposed system.

Reviewed unit rangeInterior perimeter / French drain$40–$120 / linear ft
3

Pump add-ons

Keep these on only if the proposed system includes them.

4

Location

State and ZIP are recorded for context only; no unsupported local multiplier is applied.

These are the reviewed unit and project ranges used by the calculator. The model does not hide state, ZIP, access or severity multipliers behind the result.

Line itemPlanning range
Typical basement waterproofing project$2,461–$8,201
Interior basement perimeter drain$40–$120 / linear ft
Exterior footing drain / weeping tile$30–$90 / linear ft
Sump pump installation$800–$1,500 / project
Battery backup system$600–$1,200 / project

Use the range for comparison, not diagnosis

A browser tool cannot inspect structure, moisture pathways, contamination, code requirements or hidden conditions. Use the estimate to understand order of magnitude and to normalize competing written scopes.

Frequently asked questions

Why are interior and exterior drainage priced differently?

Interior systems usually involve cutting and repouring basement slab; exterior footing drains require excavation outside the foundation. They solve related but different water-control problems.

How much perimeter should I enter?

Use the approximate length included in the proposed drainage system, not automatically the entire basement unless the contractor is pricing a full-perimeter system.

Does RepairGauge include drywall and flooring restoration?

No. Finish restoration varies too much without measured quantities, so the calculator keeps it outside the drainage estimate rather than inventing an allowance.
