2026 cost reference
These are the reviewed unit and project ranges used by the calculator. The model does not hide state, ZIP, access or severity multipliers behind the result.
Use the range for comparison, not diagnosis
A browser tool cannot inspect structure, moisture pathways, contamination, code requirements or hidden conditions. Use the estimate to understand order of magnitude and to normalize competing written scopes.
Frequently asked questions
Why does RepairGauge separate mitigation from rebuilding?
Extraction and drying are one scope; replacing drywall, flooring, trim and other finishes is another. Keeping them separate makes it easier to understand what a contractor quote actually includes.
Does standing water add another fee in the calculator?
No. The category-based mitigation rates already cover extraction and drying work, so RepairGauge avoids double-counting a second generic extraction charge.
When should I get immediate professional help?
Active flooding, sewage, electrical hazards, structural instability or widespread contamination can be urgent. The calculator is not a safety assessment.
