How RepairGauge handles personal data.

1. Controller

2. Website delivery and technical logs
The public website is hosted by Vercel. When the site is requested, Vercel may process technical information necessary to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the service, such as IP address, request time, requested path, browser/device information and security logs. Where the GDPR applies, RepairGauge relies on legitimate interests in operating a secure and stable service where applicable.
3. Calculators and quote text
Ordinary calculator inputs remain in the browser unless you intentionally submit a provider-match request. The written text pasted into the Quote Checker is analyzed in the browser and is not uploaded to RepairGauge. Do not paste names, addresses, insurance claim numbers, financial data or other sensitive information.
4. Provider-match requests
If you request provider options, RepairGauge stores the project type, state, ZIP code, estimate range, name, email address, phone number, source page, consent version and limited campaign/referrer information present at the time of submission. We use this information to review the request, contact you and identify possible service providers. Fields marked as required are needed to process the matching request; if you do not provide them, RepairGauge cannot handle that request.
Your contact details are not automatically broadcast or sold to providers. RepairGauge will not share your contact details with a provider unless you later approve that specific introduction. A provider proposal can be accepted or declined without obligation.
5. Provider introductions
If you approve an introduction, RepairGauge may keep a record of the provider, your approval and the date of disclosure for accountability and dispute handling. The initial match-request checkbox does not authorize automated or prerecorded marketing calls or marketing text messages.
6. Quote-data contributions
If you voluntarily contribute a contractor price, RepairGauge may store the project type, state, optional ZIP code, quoted total, optional repair method, source page and consent version. The pasted quote text is not included. Submitted fields may be used in reviewed aggregate research; RepairGauge does not present an individual contributed quote as an anonymous local market fact.
7. Contact and privacy requests
Contact-form submissions may include your name, email address, selected topic, message and source page. Use the Privacy request / data rights topic or email privacy@repairgauge.com for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or consent-withdrawal requests.
8. Analytics and performance measurement
RepairGauge uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights when enabled. Vercel describes these products as privacy-focused, aggregated and not tied to an identifiable visitor or stored IP address; Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies. RepairGauge does not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, quote text or ZIP codes as analytics event properties.
RepairGauge does not use a first-party attribution cookie or browser-storage identifier for marketing attribution. Limited UTM/referrer information visible on the submission page may be attached to a submission so we can understand where a request came from.
9. GDPR legal bases
RepairGauge is operated from Germany. Personal-data processing carried out in the context of this German establishment is subject to the GDPR regardless of where an individual visitor is located. Depending on the activity, processing may rely on: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for handling a provider-match request and related pre-contractual steps; Article 6(1)(a) for optional consent-based disclosures such as a specific provider introduction or voluntary quote contribution; Article 6(1)(f) for security, fraud prevention, limited analytics, record integrity and legal-defense purposes; and Article 6(1)(c) where processing is required by law. Additional local privacy laws may apply to visitors in other jurisdictions.
10. Data recipients and international processing
RepairGauge uses Vercel for website hosting/performance services and Supabase for the private submission backend. When operator email notifications are enabled, RepairGauge also uses Resend to deliver transactional notifications about submitted lead and contact requests; those notification emails may contain the contact information and request details needed for the operator to respond. These providers process data on RepairGauge's behalf under their applicable terms and data-protection arrangements.
Depending on the service and processing location, data may be processed outside the EEA or UK. Where a restricted international transfer requires a safeguard, RepairGauge relies on the applicable provider arrangements and recognized transfer mechanisms, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable. A repair service provider receives homeowner contact details only after the homeowner approves that specific introduction.
11. Retention
RepairGauge keeps personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected, legal obligations, security, accountability or dispute handling. Inactive provider-match requests and ordinary contact messages are generally deleted after 180 days. Spam records are generally deleted after 30 days. Pending quote contributions are generally deleted after 12 months; accepted research observations and records connected with an approved introduction may be retained for up to 24 months where reasonably necessary for accountability, research integrity, dispute handling or legal defense. Short-lived anti-abuse records are generally deleted within 48 hours. Legal obligations or an active dispute may require a longer period. You may request earlier deletion where applicable.
12. Security
RepairGauge uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect submitted data against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Access to personal submissions is restricted and public visitors do not have direct access to private submission records.
13. U.S. privacy choices
RepairGauge does not use personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising and does not sell a visitor's calculator activity. Provider matching occurs only when requested, and contact details are disclosed only after approval of a specific provider. Where a U.S. state privacy law gives you access, correction, deletion, portability or opt-out rights, RepairGauge will honor applicable requests even when a particular statutory threshold may not apply to this early-stage service.
14. Children
Provider-match and contact-submission features are intended for adults who can make or authorize decisions about the property or repair request. RepairGauge does not knowingly solicit personal information from children.
15. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to or receive a copy of personal data, and to withdraw consent for future processing. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal. Use Privacy choices or email privacy@repairgauge.com. Where the GDPR applies, you may also complain to a competent supervisory authority; for the operator's establishment this includes the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony (LfD Niedersachsen).
Automated decisions. RepairGauge does not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on a person. Calculator and Quote Checker outputs are planning and comparison aids, and provider matching is subject to human review.
16. Commercial transparency
Homeowners do not pay RepairGauge to use the calculators or request matching. RepairGauge may receive compensation from a participating service provider or network in connection with an approved introduction. Compensation does not change calculator results, source selection or editorial conclusions and does not give a provider automatic access to homeowner information.
